Houston, Alabama

Visited the Houston Jail…a log jail constructed in 1868. It was peppered with horseshoe nails to keep prisoners from escaping! While we were there, we ran into Nora from the Houston Historical Society…who was visiting that day with her sons from out of town. She was so cute and sweet, and told us all about the jail and how the Society had renovated it in 2003. The prisoners had to pee out of holes carved in the walls…and after seeing them I’m still trying to work out how they managed the rest!
Lunch at the local restaurant, and hung out with “Hoss”…this dog has been hangin’ around the restaurant for 13 years. He was so sweet! 🤣💕🐾
